Had a really good time at a BBQ this evening, surprisingly the cook was pretty health conscious himself and just had chicken breast, with 2 types of salads.
For my reward meal, I drank a six pack of Rickards White (another great Canadian Beer, a wheatie cirtus taste, perfect for a hot day and brewed with a Belgian style to give that white Hoegaarden look). The calories in rickard's white are shown below as a harsh reality of what I'm drinking here.
To justify the 6 pack of beer, I am just celebrating 2 months of great success with my progress. I have been always optimistic to get this far, but to this date I am shocked from the results. Can't wait for next month - a 12 pack of beer. =)

Day 39 / Week 6 - The Team Drink
Oops...I did it again...A beer fell into mouth 'by accident'. J/k! ;-) Soon after volleyball, our after game ritual is to have a few pitchers of beer (especially when we win- like today). I did at 1st say no (while going for a next gulp of water) , but was ridiculed by my team of being a 'wuss' and to stop dieting.
As you can see, I'm a sucker for peer pressure when it involves beer(seriously - put me in an interrogation room with a 6 pack of any Canadian beer and I'll be singing like a bird!), but at the same token, I didn't want to be that team mate that bales out after the game and not participate in a "team drink" .
So I sipped a 1/2 beer while others went for a 2nd and 3rd cup. They also indulged themselves with hot dogs and hamburgers, and that is when I definitely had to back away. I wasn't hungry anyways and by looking at the time it was 10:30pm, so it was quite easy for me to decline. Plus, I just spent an hour in the gym and also didn't want to ruin my hard earned eating plan for the day. In perspective, I don't think the 1/2 beer was too bad(yes I am trying to rationalize it - ;-) ), but I just have to ensure that if we have drinks after the game again(which we will) I keep with the same rule - 1/2 beer or none.

Day 38 / Week 6 - Knocking Back a Beer at the TFC. Yaa!!
Today was going so well until I got "pressured" to drinking a couple of beers at the TFC (Toronto Football Club) game. As an avid soccer fan and occasional fanatic at the BMO Field in Toronto, I have been so used to combining the two (beer and sports) together. At the time, I didn't exactly want to order a water and be a "wuss" in front on my buds, and at the same time - I really love beer (I won't deny it). =) I drank Lite (Carlsberg Lite - not my favorite brand), but I still feel it didn't matter - I mean alcohol is alcohol right?. Speaking of beer, I will be missing "Beer Fest" this year for the 1st time, as I know for sure(looking at previous years I attended) I will drink like a fish and feel no shame about it(well maybe until the next day when I am sober). Instead, I'm going to "Rib-Fest"...Just Kidding, Just Kidding!!! :-) Since I would drink at an average of about 25 to 30 beers at beer fest and I calculate the calories for all those drinks, it will likely to reach approx. 7000+ calories....Yikes!...Not worth it!!! In regards to the game at BMO field, the fans are just crazy and everyone is there to have good drinks, good people, good laughs and good soccer! If you are in Toronto(spring/summer), go watch a game - you'll have a great time! Guaranteed!
Anyhow before I get thirsty again, here are my stats for today...

Day 8 / Week 1 in Review
So it's been 1 week...and I'm still FAT! WTF??! Just kidding...I understand that miracles don't happen overnight, and will use this passed week as a 1st milestone out of 12 in eating healthier, exercising more and using the gym more effectively. I'll have to be honest though, there were times in the passed week where I was tempted and did indulge. Example, the beers I had on Friday. Another, was a glass of wine on Saturday. So as you can see, I'm not perfect, I'm human...But do also realize that in order for me to challenge this system fairly, I need to be diligent with the programs instructions. And 1 of them is : no alcohol. So tough I tell ya, because I love beer - but going forward, I need to realize that this is the major factor behind my rising gut...Anyhow, enough of me pondering on my dreams of knocking back a 6 pack of Amsterdam Beer - I have my 1st weekly results you all been waiting for :
Drum Roll Please....
Week 1 Pic
So, looking at this weeks results I lost 3 pounds and did not gain 3 pounds. I feel stronger and starting to show a little definition around my arms and chest(some will say in the right shade of light you might see more). My body fat% has decreased and not increased which is good. As Barack Obama had once said (in regards to the economy) "This is a big oceanliner, it's not a speedboat. It doesn't turn around immediately" - So I'm willing to wait to see if my hard work pays off and hoping that in a month's time I will be seeing significant results....I just need to ensure that my game is on each day and change a few things that I did last week to make this week a lot easier and effective.
Also, in an effort to ensure that I stay on track(this week and going forward), I'll create a daily checklist to ensure that I stay within the guidelines of the RTP System. I will also start a calorie journal of what I eat each day and will post my calorie intake for each day as well (eventhough I'm confident that I was within the recommended calorie intake for the week)...

Day 5/ Week 1 - My Personal Kryptonite....Beer
Good news and bad news today...Good news is no more soreness! yaay! Bad news is, I got tempted with my ultimate weakness - BEER. Knowing that it was a beautiful Friday evening, my friend and I went to the bar and had a couple of beers on the patio. G-times on the patio, but not exactly good for my gut....I did however worked out before the patio and will make up the beer mishap tomorrow evening when I go do my cardio. I think an extra 15 minutes on the treadmill will be enough punishment for my bad deed.
