Unbelievably, this evening my mind was telling me to take a day off prior to going to the gym. Without a second thought, I first asked myself "WTF am I thinking???" I then quickly brushed off "the little guy on my shoulder", changed into my gym gear, grabbed my water bottle and mp3 player and got the hell out. There is no way I am missing a workout day a few days before I celebrate! I did feel pretty tired though before going to the gym but surprisingly after my stretches & warm up, I felt pretty good. I previously had a person in an online forum ask me about of what I do as I warm up and figured I would share of what I personally do here. Now, there are many people who would rather go on the treadmill/elliptical for 5 min to naturally get the blood flowing, but not me, I hate the treadmill/elliptical and would only go on it if I have to - hence the reason why I go blading most of the time for my cardio. So what I do is just 10 jumping jacks 1st to get the blood flowing(after stretching) and then I would hit the ground and do 60 push-ups or until I am fully fatigued. I have not quite hit the 100 push-up mark yet like I used to do in high school (yes...a loooong time ago), but can see myself progressing to that point as my body fat decreases and muscle mass increases. So today, I kept within the guidelines of nutrition and food intake, along with another successful workout. Tomorrow is my rest day and only 3 more days till I celebrate. =)
